Dr. Baumgartner believes there is no one-size-fits-all solution to pain management. He takes the time to listen, understand each patient’s unique experience, and develop personalized treatment plans designed to provide lasting relief while improving overall function.
His commitment to excellence began at Texas A&M University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and earned University and Foundation Honors. He went on to receive his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where he was awarded the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Student Research Fellowship Scholarship.
Following medical school, Dr. Baumgartner completed two years of General Surgery training at the University of Illinois at Mt. Sinai Hospital before pursuing an Anesthesiology residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He remained at Rush to complete advanced fellowship training in Pain Medicine, gaining extensive experience in diagnosing and treating complex pain conditions.
Today, Dr. Baumgartner is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He has a special interest in treating spine and nerve-related pain and offers advanced therapies, including spinal neuromodulation and spinal cord stimulation for patients with chronic neuropathic pain.
Although his training took him to Chicago, Texas has always been home. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Baumgartner returned to the Houston area to care for the community that shaped him. For more than six years, he has been helping patients throughout Northwest Houston find meaningful relief through evidence-based, individualized care.
Outside the office, Dr. Baumgartner enjoys running, spending time with his wife and family, and staying connected to the Houston community he is proud to serve.
