Lindsey Harris, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.R.S. has been reviewed and approved by TX Top Docs based on merit for 2025. Dr. Harris is an accomplished ophthalmologist specializing in retina and vitreous diseases, including diabetic retinopathy and other complex retinal conditions. A Beaumont, Texas native, Dr. Harris brings both exceptional expertise and heartfelt dedication to her patients in the Houston community.
Dr. Harris earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1996 and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 2000. Her academic excellence was recognized through numerous honors, including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She went on to complete her ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, where she distinguished herself as Chief Resident and earned both the Stephen B. Schindler Award—for exemplary ethical and humane standards—and the Everett L. Goar Award for outstanding research. Following her residency, she pursued a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Emory University.
An accomplished researcher and educator, Dr. Harris has published extensively and presented her work at national and international meetings. As the Primary Investigator for the Retina Research Department at Houston Eye Associates, she leads numerous clinical research trials, helping to advance new treatments and improve patient outcomes. Her commitment to excellence has been recognized repeatedly, including being named Houston Eye Associates Foundation’s “Physician of the Year” multiple times.
Beyond her clinical and research achievements, Dr. Harris is deeply involved in professional leadership and community service. She serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Texas Medical Liability Trust, and is a Past President of the Texas Ophthalmological Association. Dr. Harris also represents her peers as a delegate for the Harris County Medical Society to the Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Harris’s dedication extends well beyond medicine. She has served on the Board of Trustees of the Houston Eye Associates Foundation, the Executive Committee of the Christus Foundation for Healthcare, the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Houston, and the Board of the Pi Beta Phi Houston Alumnae Club. In addition, she serves on the Advisory Board of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, reflecting her deep commitment to faith and service.
