David A. Hector, MD, FACP, FACC, FSCAI, FAAC of Tyler Cardiovascular Consultants has been reviewed and approved by TX Top Docs for 2025. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, followed by an internship and residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Hector then completed both a Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where he developed his expertise in complex catheter-based procedures.
In 1986, Dr. Hector moved south, drawn by warmer weather and a faculty position at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. He later joined Tyler Cardiovascular Consultants in 1998, where he has played a pivotal role in transforming cardiac care across the region. Reflecting on his journey, Dr. Hector notes, “Medical care has improved dramatically, and to be a part of that new culture and advanced medical care for East Texas is one of the great pleasures of my life.”

He is an active member of several leading medical societies, including the American Academy of Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the American Heart Association, and the American Society of Echocardiography, among others.
