Dr. J. Michael Bennett is a second-generation orthopedic surgeon proudly serving the greater Austin area. Board-certified in orthopedic surgery and fellowship-trained in sports medicine and arthroscopy, Dr. Bennett brings both expertise and experience to his practice. During his sports medicine fellowship, he served as a team physician for several major sports organizations, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Miami Hurricanes, Texas Southern University, and Florida International University.

Dr. Bennett’s clinical focus includes the treatment of shoulder, elbow, and knee conditions, as well as ligament reconstruction and advanced cartilage repair and restoration. His dedication and skill in sports medicine have earned him the Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine.

Beyond patient care, Dr. Bennett plays a prominent role in the advancement of orthopedic education and medical innovation. He serves as Chairman of the Multimedia Education Committee for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is the regional medical director for AngelMD, a digital platform that connects physicians with emerging healthcare startups. He also acts as a physician advisor at the Texas Medical Center Innovation Institute (TMCx), contributing his insight to the development of new medical technologies.

A committed educator and researcher, Dr. Bennett has authored numerous publications and delivered multiple presentations in the field of orthopedics. He has volunteered his time as a clinical instructor at the University of Texas Houston and with Shriners Hospital for Children, reinforcing his dedication to mentorship and community service.
